President Trump’s bizarre hairdo is the result of scalp-reduction surgery,
careful styling held in place by strong hairspray
— and too much cheap dye, according to a new book.
Daughter Ivanka Trump often makes fun of her dad’s comb-over to friends and delights in explaining how the crazy coiffure
comes together, according to “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
“She often described the mechanics behind it to friends: an absolutely clean pate — a contained island after scalp-reduction
surgery
— surrounded by a furry circle of hair around the sides and front, from which all ends are drawn up to meet in
the center and then swept back and secured by a stiffening spray,” journalist Michael Wolff writes in the book, out Jan. 9.
“The color, she would point out to comical effect, was from a product called Just for Men — the longer it was left on, the
darker it got. Impatience resulted in Trump’s orange-blond hair color.”
Scalp reduction — also known as alopecia reduction — is a procedure in which a surgeon removes a man’s bald spot, then
sews the more hirsute skin back together.
While total retail sales this past Christmas were surprisingly strong, not
every present unwrapped on the holiday was met with unbridled joy.
In fact, some gifts were spectacular only because of how fast they piled up
at return counters across the country.
The top returned Christmas gifts this year were pricey battery-powered
ride-ons, like the $200 Power Wheels Wild Thing or the $160 Disney Mercedes
6-Volt Ride-On, according to B-Stock Solutions, which operates an
auction Web site that connects returns made to the country’s largest retailers
— including Amazon, Walmart and Macy’s — with resellers.
Also in the Top 7 of gift returns, according to a list cobbled together by
B-Stock for The Post are: Barbie dolls and Star Wars figures; blenders,
coffee makers and microwaves; and designer handbags.
